The main panel will provide the majority of the legal services required by the Utilities, on a non-exclusive basis, including without limitation:
Commercial and innovation, competition and procurement law, construction, data protection, environmental, regulatory and health and safety, employment and pensions, real estate including real estate litigation and planning, regulatory prosecutions and defences of environmental regulatory offences, strategic resource options and direct procurement for customers, water industry regulation and licence and small corporate.
Non-regulated business within the Severn Trent Plc group may also purchase legal services from Lot 1.
This is the non-exclusive appointment of a provider of legal services to the non-regulated businesses, Severn Trent Green Power Ltd and its subsidiaries, and Severn Trent Services and its subsidiaries. Severn Trent Connect and Midlands Land Portfolio Limited may also use this panel. The range of legal services includes Commercial, Commercial Litigation, Construction Contentious and Non Contentious, Environmental Compliance, Small - Mid sized Corporate, Real Estate and Planning, Ofgem Regulatory Advice and FCA Advice, Private Water Regulations/PFI Contract Expertise. These businesses may also purchase legal services from Lots 1, 3, and 4.
Our non-regulated businesses are not subject to the Utilities Contract Regulations Act 2016. See procurement documents for further information.
This is the appointment up to 2 firms for commercial litigation and insurance legal work, namely the provision of insurance legal advice in relation to employers liability, motor claims, personal injury and third-party recoveries and Schedule 12 of the Water Industry Act.
Commercial litigation may also be instructed under Lots 1, 2 and 4.
This appointment is to provide legal services to any member of the Severn Trent plc group of companies under the scope of services for Lot 4, which may include corporate, company secretariat, tax, treasury, strategic litigation, strategic pensions, competition litigation and competition advice.
