At the end of the Brexit transition period, on 1st January 2021, the UK Government’s Find a Tender service replaced the EU’s Tenders Electronic Daily (TED) service for high value UK contracts.
What are high value tender opportunities?
Public sector tender opportunities generally worth over £122,976 must be advertised on the Find a Tender website. Any UK buyer (Commissioning Authority) who had previously published notices on TED must now publish them on Find a Tender. There are variations in the value thresholds for publishing tenders on Find a Tender, more details can be found here if required.
Lower value tender opportunities in England continue to be advertised on the Contracts Finder website in exactly the same way as they were before Brexit. Similarly, the websites in use in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland for lower value tenders continue to operate in the same way.
Anyone can freely access and search Find a Tender for tender opportunities. The site allows you to see all published tenders and search based on keywords. Users can filter results based on the procurement stage, notice type, CPV code, location (using NUTS codes), contract value and publication date.
Any tender notices issued on or after 1st January 2021 must be published on Find a Tender, those that were issued before that date can still be found on TED. Any tender that was in progress via TED before 1st January 2021 will continue to have notifications published via TED.
